There are moments in your Hermès journey you never see coming. For me, this was one of those moments. I got this offer completely by surprise. No hints from my SA, no “stay tuned” text, nothing. Just a quiet, casual, life-changing moment when she brought out the bag. I was pleasantly shocked, and for a few seconds, I think my brain forgot how to form complete sentences.

Why Etoupe Was On My Wishlist
Etoupe has been on my wishlist for quite a while. It is that perfect cool-toned neutral, a sophisticated contrast to my warm and sunny Gold Birkin 25. The two together feel like the perfect yin and yang of my Hermès collection.
One of the things that makes Etoupe so special is how it transforms depending on the lighting. In soft daylight it leans toward a gentle grey with a hint of beige, under warmer indoor lights it can take on richer brown undertones, and sometimes in the shade it surprises you with a slight khaki tint. This chameleon effect is one of the reasons it works so beautifully year-round and with almost any outfit. Every time you carry it, it feels like you are rediscovering the color all over again.

But here is the thing: even if this offer had come with gold hardware instead of palladium, my answer would have been exactly the same. Etoupe is one of those magical Hermès shades that somehow works with both hardware finishes. My Picotin 18 in Etoupe has gold hardware and it is gorgeous, so I already knew either way it would be stunning.

The Holy Trinity of Hermès Colors
Now, with this beauty, I officially own two colors from the holy trinity of Hermès neutrals: Gold, Noir, and Etoupe. Two down, one to go. And if you have ever wondered why people talk about these colors like sacred treasures, it is because they are.
They are timeless, endlessly versatile, and look beautiful with almost any outfit imaginable. Etoupe, in particular, is like that friend who gets along with everyone, from crisp whites and summer linens to deep winter jewel tones and cozy cashmere. You can wear it all year round without ever feeling out of season.

Why I Chose the Birkin 25 Again
I went for the size 25 again because, in my opinion, it is the perfect sweet spot. The proportions are elegant, it transitions effortlessly from day to night, and it fits my frame like it was made for me. It also holds all my essentials without feeling heavy, which is a huge win.
I have tried the size 30 before and while it is undeniably beautiful, it felt a little big for my frame and heavier to carry. That being said, maybe my next Birkin adventure will be in a 30 just to change things up.

What Color Should I Go For Next?
And now comes the question every Hermès lover secretly loves to debate. Where do I go from here? I have two incredible Birkins in two incredible neutrals. Should I take a leap and go for a bold pop of color such as Rouge H, Bleu Frida, or Rose Mexico? Or should I keep building my neutral dream team with shades like Noir, Gris Meyer, or Craie? Decisions, decisions.
What do you think my next Birkin color should be? A neutral to complete the holy trinity or something that makes a statement from across the room? Tell me in the comments. I would love to know your pick.
