Hello my chic friends! Today, I want to share my thoughts on the Louis Vuitton Soft Speedy 30—and oh my God, this bag is gorgeous. Have you seen it? I’ve posted some shorts about it, so if you’re interested, keep reading!
Now, if you’ve been following my videos, you know I’m a Speedy lover. I think it’s one of Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bags—it’s been around for over 90 years, and thanks to Audrey Hepburn, it became a classic. The Speedy is timeless, versatile, and just an perfect for daily use and also special occasions.
Speedy Sizes & My Collection
Louis Vuitton releases different versions and sizes of the Speedy every year—seriously, they have everything from 18, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, you name it. And of course, they come in different prints, materials, and colors. The options are endless!
Personally, I own:
• Speedy 20 – in classic monogram & monogram Dune
• Speedy 25 – in Damier Ebene & Damier Azur
• Speedy 30 – from the Flight Mode collection (my newest addition!)
I just love Speedy bags, period. Some people prefer the more structured look, while others like the saggy, relaxed vibe. I’m somewhere in between—I like a bit of slouch, but not too much structure.
Size Breakdown – Which One is Best?
• Speedy 20: Super structured, compact, but surprisingly roomy! It holds all the essentials and looks adorable crossbody or handheld. I did a full review on this one—I’ll link it here and below.
• Speedy 25: For me, this is the perfect everyday size. At 5’3.5”, I love how it looks when worn crossbody. It fits so much and works great for daily use.
• Speedy 30 (Flight Mode Collection): I got this one mainly for travel, and I love its unique design with all the stamps and details. But it does feel big!
Now, Let’s Talk About the Soft Speedy 30
Okay, this bag is living rent-free in my head right now! I saw it in person, and let me tell you—it’s stunning. Let’s go over the details:
• Comes in two colors: Arizona Beige (OMG, so beautiful) and Noir (black)
• Size: 30 cm across
• Material: Made from soft Empreinte leather—not as structured as regular Empreinte but not as buttery soft as the Pharrell Williams P9 Speedy
• Super soft feel – It’s softer than canvas and regular leather, but still holds its shape
• Comes with an adjustable, removable leather strap, a leather tag, gold hardware, and a suede lining (to die for!)
How It Wears & My Thoughts
When I tried it on, I loved how comfortable and relaxed it looked. Unlike my Fly Mode Speedy 30, which is more structured (because of the coated canvas blend), this one has a softer, more effortless vibe.
Let’s Talk Price & Comparisons
The Soft Speedy 30 costs $3,900 plus tax.
Now, compare that to the P9 Speedy from the Pharrell Williams collection, which is $9,000+ (can you believe that?).
I love the P9 Speedy—it’s super unique and super soft. When the first collection came out, I was offered the red version, and I was tempted. But I passed. Then, when the newer collection came out, I was offered the turquoise one, but I wasn’t totally convinced.
For me, if I’m going to spend that much money, I need to be all in. And while I appreciate the ultra-soft feel of the P9, I wasn’t crazy about the bright colors. They also released a brown version that looked almost identical to the classic monogram canvas—so at that point, I was like, why spend $9K when it looks the same from a distance?
Now, back to the Soft Speedy 30—it’s not as ridiculously soft as the P9, but it’s also not as structured as regular Empreinte. It sits somewhere in the perfect middle.
Final Thoughts… Will I get it?
I’m torn between getting the Soft Speedy 30 and my current Speedy 30 (Fly Mode) for travel. The only thing holding me back is the size. But then I saw the Arizona Beige, and it’s like a dream come true! It’s so similar to my Louis Vuitton Coussin, and the color is just perfect. The black is also stunning, but I have a bunch of black bags, and the beige just speaks to me more.
